1. Relevant information for the IED Spain community relating to coronavirus – COVID 19

Dear IED Spain Community,
Coronavirus - COVID-19 is a contagious disease that, given the global dimension that it has taken on, we need to face as an active agent of university life, as well as a cultural agent of the cities in which we are located: Barcelona and Madrid.
As we have been doing for the past weeks, from the management we are calling for calm and normality within the extraordinary recommendations to be adopted among our community.
The health, safety and welfare of our community is now our main priority.
It is our responsibility as a school to adopt the measures recommended by the health authorities to allow the virus to be contained. For this purpose, we are in direct contact with the health authorities of Catalonia and of the Region of Madrid, as well as the Ministry of Health and all authorities involved at all levels. Within IED, an ad hoc COVID-19 monitoring committee has been set up. This committee is kept permanently up to date and coordinated to offer the community of students, teachers and staff the latest recommendations on this issue.
Given how quickly the virus is spreading, it is very likely that over the coming days we will have in our own community or very close to it cases that test positive.
IED Spain, at its Madrid and Barcelona sites, is following both prevention and action protocols in order to have the necessary response capacity in the event of a possible case within any of our campuses.
This site will be constantly updated with the latest news that affects us as a school.
We would like to ask all members of the IED community to adopt the prevention measures and to try not to expose themselves to risk situations. We therefore make an appeal to the responsibility of each one of us.
